 "Great case for travel" 2009-08-12
By BooBoo (Maryland)
I use this for traveling with my Acer computer. Great PROTECTION of your Acer computer. Most important - has a pouch for your cords, I even put my baby mouse in there too. I bought one without a pouch for cords, and returned it. Been using a few month, and definitely would buy again.

 "Works for Me" 2009-06-27
By S. Pudlo (Hendersonville, TN)
I searched for quite a while and finally decided on this case for my netbook. This case is well constructed and fits my Acer 8.9" w/ three cell battery very nicely. In the pocket I can fit the AC adapter, earbuds, USB cable, and a wireless notebook mouse without having to "cram" them in or strain to close the zipper. The case looks great and I am happy to carry it into any situation - business or social. All in all, an excellent value.

 "Excellent fit, Good quality" 2009-06-14
By James Q. Talley (Shelburne, VT)
I've purchased three of these cases for the three Acer 10.1" display mini-notebooks I've bought and I've been pleased with them. The one I use is small enough that I can use it as a pouch inside my briefcase (which was my original goal). The outside pocket is a little snug, but there is enough room for the mini-mouse, AC adapter and another small cable or two. As another reviewer pointed out, think of this as a slightly padded carrying bag, not an armored computer case. I'm very pleased with mine - it fulfills the role I bought it to fulfill.

 "Great Bag" 2009-05-22
By M. cruz (Sacramento, CA USA)
After getting an Acer the first thing I did was look for a bag for it. After looking around, this one looked like the best one.

It arrived very fast: Within about 2 days. It fit the acer in it perfectly and has straps so you can use the net book without ever taking it out of the case.

It doesn't have pouches for the charging cord, making it not the ideal travel case, but it's great for carrying your net book to classes if you just charge your acer at home.

"What good is a case that wont hold the mouse or bat-charger?" 2009-05-22
By George W. Estey
When I ordered my Acer Aspire 8.9" Mini-Notebook you also displayed what I believed to be a useful foam pouch to carry the computer. I guess it is if all you want to carry is the Mini-Notebook. Usually, when I travel I want to be able to recharge the battery as well. As far as I'm concerned this pouch is a waste of good money as it does not provide space for the mouse or battery charger. My vote is a big thumbs down!

 "Great little computer" 2009-05-11
By Roger Szymanski
So far I am very happy with my Acer net book. I not only use it for web sutfing, but also watching movies and TV shows on netflix. In the bulding where I use the computer I get lousy AM radio reception, so the Acer is my wifi radio to boot!

I only have a few minor gripes about The Acer net book. The sound quality from the bult in spekers is pretty lousy, but I expected this. (there is not exatly room for subwoofers in such a tiny computer, and the sound from my 15 inch laptop is not that great, ether.) A good set of externel speakers or even cheap head phones are the order here.

The beutufull metallec finish (I got the saphire blue)gets all to quikly smuged with fingerprints.

Otherwise the Acer is a great computer, and I have recommended it to a number of people. It should be a hit with students, for its low price and extreme portability!

 "Handy little bag" 2009-05-01
By S. Pero (rochester, ny usa)
This thing is pretty useful- not only does it hold the little acer notebook securely with little elastic straps inside, it even has a little battery cushion and enough room so I can slide my jump drive (or jump drives) inside and not have to worry about them. And it even has a little extra wiggle room so I can slide my lab notebook inside and pack up my work a little quicker. It even has lock loops (if you have a problem with people breaking inside your case). If nothing else it keeps my notebook safe inside my backpack, even when I have a lot of crap inside. And when I'm home it's impervious to cat hair.

By Deimos (Alberta)
Runs most programs ok with XP nothing impressive, but the power supply and charger connector is just garbage and stays loose in the connector port causing it to zone in and out and not charge properly. Once you unplug it it shuts off, no battery life to speak off. Net books suck anyway, most laptops are now are no different to carry around and at least then you have full performance, battery life and screen size eg. Macbook Pro/Air.

 "soooo disappointed" 2009-07-31
By J. Herling
I had high hopes for this, after I researched the Acer Aspire on multiple websites. I wanted something small for me to take with me on vacations, solely for the purpose of keeping in touch and being able to get on the internet and check on tourist sites, restaurants, attractions, etc.. So the first week I had it, I set up my browser preferences, email, etc. - packed it in my suitcase and was quite pleased with my choice. At the hotel, within a couple hours, I got the blue screen of death flashed by with a page full of text and shut down. I gave it a cooling down period, but it would not restart - - - I just had a black screen. The next day, it booted up, seemed fine, but then again, the old BSOD and nothing! Repeat scenario several times. After vacation, I put the Acer away until 6 weeks later, I went on another vacation. Checked out the Acer at home, and everything seemed fine. Arrived at hotel - - - same story as last time!!! (I think my Acer is allergic to hotels!!!)

This time, when I got home, I emailed Acer tech support. They were very responsive, and gave me several steps to go through, things to test. So by email they tell me to mail in the netbook, but they didn't give me the address! So I called Acer, HE wants me to do each of those tests, try this, try that, and after a lot of pushing, FINALLY got the address to mail it in for service.

A week later, I had it back, and it worked fine - - they said they upgraded the BIOS. Everything looked good. UNTIL I went on vacation again - - - you KNOW what happened - - - - - it worked a couple hours, then BSOD. I never could get it back up again, after 5 days of trying.

So now, I'm looking at taking a glass of wine with a couple prozac before I get on the phone with Acer again.

Maybe I've got a lemon.

My first effort in the netbook world was the orginal asus 2 gig surf. It filled a need at the time and was well enjoyed used for web surfing email only. When i looked to expanding the asus i found by getting the orginal it was not as easy to upgrade as other latter asus were.

A pal mentioned this one and after doing homework asking questions here i went a head and used a seller on amazon and got it.

Very pleased with windows xp, the larger hard drive multi usb ports 2 different sd ports .

I found since this one had more features then my orginal one I use it much more often.

I got a flash drive for transfering files and found a 2.0 slim dvd external drive for this which made it complete to me.

Happy with purchase and glad i tried this acer instead of the other route i was looking to go. I also like the way acer did the space bar better then the asus.....

I bought this netbook in February and it is still as fast and effective as it was when I took it out of the box. I take it with me to the library every time I go so I can access the wireless network on my own machine, plus I've taken it on vacation because it's so portable. Plus, I do all of my graduate school work on this little machine. It still boots quickly and is able to run multiple applications at once. My favorite aspects of this computer are its portability, decent battery life, and the cute pink color.

This is a nice little package - it has given me no problems - all programs have installed without a problem - and all usb hardware was also recognized with no problems (hp 8gig flash drive, Iomega 320 gig removable hard drive, Samsung DVD drive). The screen graphics are good - the sound is however weak - but then again if you want better speakers than you will need to pay more than $345 - or get a docking station or other speaker set - I am staying with 5 stars since I do not think you can get it all for such a low price. The battery in the one I got was the 6.5 hour one - I noticed that the tracking icon in the taskbar jumped around a little showing 7 hours at one point and 5.5 at another - have not taken it to the end point but I think it is probably accurate enough.

I like this laptop when I got it. A week after, I have issues with power adapter. I googled, and all I can see is people having some or other issues with Acer Aspire Ones. They have very poor quality of laptops, untested bulk sales of crappy machines. Their Customer Service is even pathetic. No phone number on their website to start with. I googled and found a number, but after 4 calls, no one sensible.

Couple of other things:

1. Keyboard is too small, although my fingers are small, I can't type like a normal keyboard. Its not a full keyboard. Up/down arrow, u need to literally located them.

2. RAM is hard to upgrade, u literally have to ripoff the whole system, and void the warranty to upgrade it.

It couldn't get past the "loading windows" screen. I called support and we went through a list of troubleshooting items. Finally, they wanted to ship me a recovery dvd, but told me I would have to by my own optical drive. Unacceptable. This is going back to the store (Walmart). Acer and I are done.

For the features the computer runs great and I have no problems. Some complain about the fan noise, but simple free app fixed that problem. The only issue I can't seem to iron out is the slow Wifi. I can't seem to get it where it's suppose to be, it's always lagging behind. If anyone else fixed this problem let me know! I use this laptop a lot in the garage, I try to do as much work on my car myself. The laptop fits under hood, under the car, in the trunk, under the sink, in the attic.....

 "Limited by useful" 2009-07-15
By Robert H. Leeper (Bellaire, TX USA)
Needed a light note taker ... tried several 'digital' pens, none worked very well. Spent some weeks reviewing the netbook field, decided on the Aspire One.

I take it to meetings to take minutes (Open Office), keyboard is big enough; later transfer the files to my desktop (thumb drive as I cannot make the One see the Win network), edit, print and email the minutes. All very simple.

I also take it to the beach house to web surf and check email, easy to pack!

I've had to reload the O/S only once ... none since I stopped trying to 'improve' the system. Added a backup routine. Might try to upgrade to Firefox 3, but those linux instructions!

On the plus side (on linux), I didn't have to buy (and renew) the firewall/malware/antivirus and all the other XP 'necessities.'
